I wasn't aware of that. The option on the feeds widget comes pre-checked and not really knowing what it did I wasn't going to change anything. It would be better to use http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=YOURPODCASTID as this will redirect people to the podcast page in iTunes. It's important because iTunes does not count subscribers in their ranking system that have subscribed via itpc://, only the ones that have clicked "Subscribe" within the store.
