I just wanted to give you a short notice that this week’s episode of The Empress Sword is being delayed due to inclement weather and personal illness. You may have heard that the Mid-Atlantic region of the US was hit by two large snowstorms this past week. Roads in the area were impassible for days. Coincidentally I’ve also had the flu since Monday afternoon. While I have enough audio to complete Episode Five, I haven’t been feeling well enough to do so.
Before I can begin work on Episode Six, I need to hold a recording session. So with all of that in mind I’ve decided not to rush through this week’s episode and then leave you all hanging for two weeks, but rather skip this week in hopes that I can get the audio I need to continue regular releases starting again next week.
Thank you all for listening to The Empress Sword and I hope you’ll be back next week when the story continues. Until then, safe journeys.
Chapters 7 & 8 – Prince Aster leaves Traders Run to face the mystery of the Misty Mountain. Meanwhile Mandrake the dragon has a decision to make about his next attack on the Kingdom of Caledon.

On Sunday, January 24th, The Capital newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland ran an article about The Empress Sword and Brand Gamblin’s Tumbler. It was a good article and you can read it at Hometown Annapolis.

On January 15th Paulette Jaxton and Brand Gamblin held a live reading at Zu Coffee in Annapolis, Maryland. It was well attended and everyone seemed to have a good time.
Brand and I were interviewed for an upcoming feature article in The Capital, the local newspaper here in Annapolis, Maryland. The article should be in print this Sunday and on their web site some time later.

On January 15th, 2010, I held a reading of The Empress Sword along with Brand Gamblin reading from his podcast novel Tumbler. The reading was held at Zü Coffee in Annapolis, Maryland. About half a dozen folks showed up and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
This special episode is a recording I made of the reading. It’s in a coffee shop, so don’t be surprised by some of the odd noises in the background. This was my first public reading and I was really nervous. Every time the barista started up the espresso machine it threw off my concentration, but I made it through I guess. I had fun and that’s what really matters.
Chapters 1 & 2 – Mandrake the dragon doesn’t like humans very much. Prince Aster of Caledon doesn’t have a very high opinion of dragons either. One summer morning a series of events is put into motion that could end with a confrontation between these two. But first, Aster must attend a garden party.
